A buyer from Strathfield who had been looking for a new home for two years finally ended their search when they beat nearly a dozen other bidders at an auction in Sydney’s northwest.
The Glenorie home on Melton Rd sold for $3.725 million, roughly $325,000 above the price the agents Kate Lumby and Will Hampson had expected.
There were 41 bids placed and Mr Hampson said it was a competitive auction. “We have strong competition coming from buyers across Sydney looking for acreage properties,” he said.
The buyer was reported to be “elated” to have finally secured a home.
The acreage in Glenorie attracted a dozen bidders.
The $3.725 million price was the second highest price paid in Glenorie this year. The highest price was paid earlier this week when a house at 966 Old North Rd sold via Mr Hampson’s office for $3.75 million. The buyers were based in Bondi.
